Insulated Concrete Forms wrap a reinforced concrete core in continuous insulation, so structure, insulation, vapour protection and framing go up as one system. The result: effective R-22 to R-26 walls with no gaps or cold spots, lower energy bills, and a building that lasts generations.
DMT lives and breathes this method. With 50+ years of combined experience, we're the crew other builders call for the hard part — including our signature specialty, footings scribed directly onto exposed bedrock.
Before we mobilize we need two things from you: drawings and permits. From there, here is the sequence a job actually moves through on site, in our words.
Layout, then footings, pads and piers formed to the site. On a typical job we form roughly 100 linear feet a day, plus pouring and then stripping the forms.
Drainage goes in and the interior is brought up with stone — the groundwork that keeps the finished space dry.
Insulated concrete walls go up: braced, aligned, poured and checked at every lift.
Waterproofing goes on the exterior — done once, done right, without the extras that get oversold.
5.0 ★ on Google — eleven reviews, every one of them five stars. Pulled straight from our Google reviews.
Took a chance on a new company and they did NOT disappoint! These guys are seasoned professionals who get the job done right the first time — and they accommodated my time frame. Ran into one small issue but it was resolved not only to my satisfaction but within budget! Would not hesitate to recommend and use these guys again. Thanks DMT!
Great experience working with this ICF company. The crew was efficient, knew what they were doing, and got the job done right. Everything moved smoothly, the work quality was solid, and communication was easy the whole time. Couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Definitely recommend them if you're looking for a reliable ICF team.
DMT is super easy to work with from beginning to end. We had some waterproofing done on the front of our house — Jerry was ready to work and answer all of our questions. I would highly recommend them. Thank you!
Professional, down to earth guys who do quality work! 100% recommend them.
Great company to work with, very professional and good communication!
Quality and honest work. They get the job done in great time!
Straight answers about ICF construction — from the crew that builds it every day.
Yes. When installed by trained professionals, drywall can be applied right onto ICF walls, even in foundation areas. ICF combines insulation, vapour protection, and built-in framing, so there is no need for extra studs or layers. This means a cleaner finish, less waste, and a wall system that is strong, efficient, and ready to showcase quality workmanship.
Absolutely. ICF walls create a continuous thermal barrier that keeps heat in during the winter and out during the summer. Unlike conventional framing, there are no gaps or cold spots, which means lower energy bills and a more comfortable home year-round.
ICF structures are built to stand the test of time. The reinforced concrete core provides unmatched strength, while the insulation protects against moisture, shifting temperatures, and wear. This creates homes and cottages that last for generations with less maintenance.
ICF walls typically deliver an effective R-value of R-22 to R-26, depending on the block used. More importantly, the continuous insulation and airtight design outperform traditional framed walls of the same rating — conventional assemblies leave weak spots at every stud and joint.
We're based in Barrie, Ontario and build within about a two-hour drive — Simcoe County, Muskoka, Georgian Bay, Orillia, Huntsville, Bracebridge, Port Carling, Rosseau and down into the GTA. If you're not sure whether your site is in range, ask; the quote is free either way.
The concrete and ICF scope, self-performed by our own crews: footings, pads and piers; weeper and interior stone; ICF foundations and frost walls; waterproofing; above-grade ICF walls; slabs and floor assemblies; and structural framing in smaller scopes. We work alongside your builder and trades rather than replacing them.
Not as much more as people think, once you take everything into consideration — the framing, insulating and vapour work you are not paying for, and the energy bills afterward.
No. ICF is faster.
Nothing other than the upfront cost. That is the trade-off, and we will say so on the phone.
